Help with Selfworth
Selfworth is made by one person. There is no support queue and no bot: you email me, and I answer.
What costs money, and what doesn't
The line runs through the doing, not the reading. Paying opens the work itself: the fair answer to a harsh thought each day, the technique inside each guided program, rewriting more than one memory, testing more than one belief at a time, and the pages the app composes out of your own record.
What never costs anything: your check-in and one line of evidence every day, at any mood; the compassion break and every rough-day support; every word you have ever written, always readable; your weekly and monthly reviews, your self-esteem score and your feeling chart; every guided programme to read and try on for size; one belief under test at a time; one memory to rewrite at a time; reminders, widgets and backup.
Your first 30 days include everything. When they end, nothing is charged and nothing is deleted. The app simply settles onto the free floor, and whatever you wrote stays yours. The reasoning behind all of it is on the pricing and principles page.
Managing or cancelling a subscription
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by me, so they are managed in your Apple Account rather than in the app:
- Open Settings on your iPhone and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Selfworth.
- From there you can change plan or cancel. Cancelling keeps your access running until the end of the period you already paid for.
Because Apple handles billing, refunds go through Apple too, at reportaproblem.apple.com. I can't issue them myself, but if something went wrong, write to me anyway and I'll help you sort it out.
Restoring a purchase
Selfworth has no account, which means there is nothing to log in to on a new phone. Go to the You tab and tap Restore purchases. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with, your purchase comes back.
Getting your journal onto a new phone
Your journal lives on your device, not on a server of mine. To carry it across, turn on Back up to iCloud in You → Settings before you switch, then restore from the same screen on the new phone. If backup was off and the old phone is gone, the journal is gone too, and I have no copy to send you. That is the cost of a journal nobody else can read.
Your data
No account, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party code. I never see a word you write. The details are in the privacy policy.
What Selfworth isn't
Selfworth is a self-help journal informed by published research. It is not therapy, not a diagnosis, and not a medical device, and it does not replace care from a professional.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please reach out to someone who can help right now. In Germany, Telefonseelsorge is free and around the clock on 0800 111 0 111 or 0800 111 0 222. In the US, call or text 988. Elsewhere, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line near you. You deserve real-time support, and an app can't be that.
Feedback
If something in the app feels wrong, or a piece of copy lands badly, I want to know. That kind of email has changed the app more than once.
